Secret Files 2 Puritas Cordis

Posted by GG Goblin On May - 31 - 2009

I’ve got a lot of time for point and click adventures. If I cast my mind back to the days of Monkey Island there has always been this striking appeal that I’ve always been attracted to. Whether it’s the element of the mystery or the deciphering of codes, I’ve always been committed to solving the mysteries. This is why I’m really enjoying Secret Files 2 – Puritas Cordis by Deep Silver on the DS. A game that’s not too dissimilar from games like Broken Sword and Syberia.

Rhythm Paradise

Posted by TurtleGirl On May - 31 - 2009

Rhythm Paradise summed up in one word was ‘delightful’. Rhythm Paradise offers players a variety of mini games that have made this title a success in my book.  Not only did this game bring me enjoyment, it brought me great satisfaction in the fact that a game has been created that actually has you laughing out loud, or it was in my case and great graphics along with boppy music.

Battlestations: Pacific

Posted by GG Goblin On May - 31 - 2009

This is the second game in the series from Eidos. The game offers both strategy and action on a grand scale within a World War 2 backdrop. Play as either the American or Japanese faction, and then rule the sea and sky with a myriad of different units. Take to the sky in one of the authentic WW2 planes, control a massive warship or sneak around underwater in a submarine. Plan your strategy and then launch your attack and take control of any of the available units during the campaign.

Anno: Create a new world DS

Posted by GG Goblin On May - 31 - 2009

Having played a number of the older Anno games I was quite looking forward to trying this game out. I was not expecting much from the hand held version but I figured that being able to play it anywhere would make up for a few shortcomings.

I started the game up and was greeted by a pretty standard start screen offering me access to the options, continuous play mode or story mode. Continuous play offers the basic sandbox mode, allowing you free reign to create your civilisation as you see fit, without being hampered by story driven objectives.

Henry Hatsworth Review

Posted by TurtleGirl On May - 31 - 2009

I had heard a lot of rumours about the new game on the DS called ‘Henry Hatsworth’, so I thought it was about time I played it and gave it a review. You may disagree or agree on the feedback from this game but I’ll let you decide what you think.

Marble Balance Challenge

Posted by TurtleGirl On May - 31 - 2009

Marble Balance challenge is an interesting game that has you rolling around all over different stages as you guide the ball around various obstacles and obstructions that get in your way. I have decided to view the game using the Wii controller. At first glance the graphics are detailed as you’re introduced to a small ant called ‘Anthony’. Now Anthony is an ant who is looking for a seed from the legendary sun flower, which is hidden deep within the stump temple. The stump temple was built 1000 years ago. Since then the path towards it was destroyed. The ant shows you an ancient script inscribed on a door that tells you that you must gather parts from around the world for the stump temple. This is where you come into the game. The tiny ants can’t do this on their own, so they require your help.

Chronicles Of Riddick – Assault On Dark Athena Review

Posted by TurtleGirl On May - 31 - 2009

Chronicles of Riddick Dark Athena introduces itself as a challenging game for me…The game begins with a compelling storyline where you start out as Vin diesels enigmatic character Riddick in which your mission is to use your stealth and action moves to overcome the merciless crew of the Merc ship Dark Athena, which is waiting for you in the silence of deep space. Taking you through a series of battles and events, Riddick will fight for his survival in the horrors of space . The game offers a unique blend of first person action coupled with a combination of melee attacks and counter attacks.

Virtua Tennis 2009 Review

Posted by TurtleGirl On May - 30 - 2009

I’ve wanted to play this game for ages. I’ve always been a fan of tennis games, so it was a good opportunity to check out ‘Virtua Tennis 2009’. I was not sure what to expect, hopefully great game play and graphics as that always drives me towards games. With the controller in my hand and I looked on with excitement as the game began. Now the beginning of the game introduces to me some of the amazing cut scenes of all the various tennis players that are within the game. I’m praying at this point that I can be at some decent level against these fine players.
