Fuel

Posted by GG Goblin On June - 15 - 2009

Fuel, developed by Asobo Studio and published by Codemasters, is said to be the “ultimate racing sandbox”. It features more than 5000 square miles of open terrain from snow capped mountains to barren desert and everything in between. Set in an alternate reality where the planet has been ravaged by the effects of global warming, the price of fuel has rocketed and a new breed of adrenaline junkie have taken to some of the remotest areas in their home made buggies, bikes and such, to race and win fuel supplies. A racing game with a message for us all I think. Read the rest of this entry »

Guitar Hero – Metallica

Posted by TurtleGirl On June - 15 - 2009

It’s time for me to rock out and try Guitar Hero Metallica. Another new title by Activision. I’ve tried some of the previous titles and now it’s time to see what rock star potential I really have, if any. This new title brings you all the heavy metal songs you can muster and play until your heart’s content.  And now for the first time you can get a taste of what it’s like to be a part of Metallica, in what I call the loudest and hardcore Guitar Hero yet. For 25 years this band has lived and rocked harder than anyone else. This game provides you with the full band experience; vocals, lead guitar, bass guitar and drums. Depends how friendly you are with your neighbours I guess. Included in this game are acts from Queen, Foo Fighters, Thin Lizzy, Motorhead and System of a Down. I personally only know a few of the bands as I’m not very keen on this kind of music, but I know those of you that are will love this game.

You always expect the games to not quite live up to the movies, mainly because they can’t always put every fine detail in. To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised at this game and this is why.
