Girl Gamers UK were invited up to Channel 4 for their Autumn Press briefing yesterday in which they revealed upcoming projects as they continue to provide web based material that will show and support towards education for young people. Among the new projects to be shown will be Derren Brown’s latest and exciting project that is exclusively for Channel 4.

 
Science of Scams is an online TV series that will educate and explain the science behind paranormal phenomena. It sounds pretty exciting. It will be a web show hosted by maestro of mind control himself Derren Brown. Created by Objective Productions, who are responsible for Derren’s current TV show featuring his now infamous predicting of the National Lottery numbers, working with digital agency Illumina, Science of Scams will reveal some of the tricks used by paranormal scammers who pretend to be psychics, chi masters and ghost hunters. In what sets out to be an exciting show, Derren and his co host Kat Akingbade explain the scientific craftsmanship behind paranormal: telekinesis, ghosts, chi force and much more.

 
“Videos suggesting that paranormal events are real are some of the biggest  hit’s on You Tube, and seem to be very popular with UK teens“, says Alice Taylor. “We wanted to create a fun, engaging project that challenges people to question their readiness to believe, by unveiling the straightforward scientific phenomena behind these so called ‘paranormal’ events. Derren and Kat make for a smooth scam busting duo..”. Science of Scams will be launching in October of this year.
