Girl Gamers UK were invited along to central London to enjoy the launch event of ‘Forza Motorsport 3‘. Coming up to the event it was hard to miss the special Forza cars in Red and Yellow that were just parked outside the event. They were absolutely gorgeous. I tried to grab as many pictures as I could before I headed in, but it was quite difficult with camera crews and photographers everywhere.
I managed to get some close ups of the cars and take some small shots. Sorry if they are a bit blurry.
How they didn’t get scratched amazed me as the road they were parked on was very busy. They were pretty sleek looking and the interior completely done in Leather upholstery. It was so choice!.
It was at this point I thought someone really should give me the keys and I can drive off in them. The cars were so nice and I particularly liked the way Xbox 360 was on the side and Forza logo on the bonnet.
After drooling over the cars for a bit we all headed very slowly into the event. Where we were met with crowds of people, waitresses serving champagne, and waiters serving canapes. Alongside the showroom the Forza seats and driving wheel and tv’s were set up for people to have a chance to play the new game. Gradually as the night went along, Murray Walker came onto the stage to open the forza presentation in which he said the following.
“Having been involved in motor racing for over 50 years, I have to say that this is the most accurate and compelling representation of the sport I have ever seen in a game. The level of detail is quite astounding, and racing fans will recognise some of the most iconic cars and tracks in all their glory. I’ve no doubt that not only will it feed the passion of those whose love of racing flows through their veins, but also open up motorsport to a whole new audience who didn’t realise just how exciting and accessible the sport actually is.â€
Murray Walker was then introduced to Jodie Kidd who made a special guest appearance. Taking the xbox 360 controller they started the game, she then admitted to only actually playing the game once. While she drove, Murray Walker commentated on her driving and encouraged her throughout the game. It was really funny to see to be honest.
Jodie Kidd commented on the forza game saying “It’s very impressive. As someone who’s passionate about driving and having been lucky enough to get behind the wheel of some of the world’s best cars myself, playing Forza 3 is the closest thing I’ve come to the real thing without it being the real thing! Everything from the detail of the graphics to the way the cars sound and handle is so realistic.â€
After everyone started to really enjoy themselves and we made our way out of the party I decide to take one more photo and then was approached by the team who asked if I wanted to have a sit in the driver’s seat. How could I resist?. I wanted to take the car home!
The event was a successful one and I really enjoyed it very much, even though it was very very cramped. Everyone seemed to have a really good time and the fact that Murray Walker and Jodie Kidd was there made it extra special.
Forza Motorsport 3 is set to provide the most high-octane, adrenalin pumping experience for anyone – whether you’re a professional racing driver or just someone who’s ever wondered what it would be like to drive a £300,000 Ferrari.
Whilst previous Forza games have offered committed racing fans the most immersive and realistic motorsport simulation available, Forza Motorsport 3 builds on that by enabling more casual gamers the chance to get involved, by being easier to pick up and play than ever before.
As hardened Forza racers can still switch off all the car assists to enjoy the most realistic and challenging experience possible, new players can enjoy the benefits of automatic braking, traction control, ABS and other driver aids to make the cars easier to handle, This means anyone can pick up the controller and live the dream of driving the kind of exotic machines they’d only dreamed about. There is even a new ‘Gameplay Rewind’ function that enables players to go back if they make a mistake halfway through.
And whilst playing Forza Motorsport 3 solo will be more than enough for some, the fun really begins when players log into Xbox LIVE. Expected to be one of the biggest-played games on Xbox’s online entertainment service, Forza Motorsport 3 enables up to eight people to play against each other in realtime, each using their own custom made cars. You can also buy, sell and exchange cars through the Auction House, share paintjobs, car set ups and much much more, meaning the experience extends well behind just the driving.
The standard game will available from next Friday, October 23 for £49.99, of the limited Collector’s Edition, for £54.99. It will also be available as part of the ‘Forza Motorsport 3 Super Elite Bundle’ for £249.00. This offers a copy of the game complete with the all-new 250GB Super Elite console complete two controller and Xbox LIVE headset, to get new gamers up and running with the biggest and best motorsport gaming experience available on any console.
