Lips: Number One Hits Preview Event

Posted by TurtleGirl On October - 2 - 2009

Girl Gamers UK were invited over to a London nightclub to watch the preview launch of Lips: Number One Hits which started off with an exclusive performance from James Morrison. Lips: Number One hits will be launched on October 23rd on the Xbox 360.

The evening was pretty good and James sang a number of his classic songs of which included ‘Broken Strings’, followed by Michael Jackson’s unforgettable song ‘Man in the Mirror’.

Everyone was in the party mood for singing. A small stage was set up for people that wanted to have a chance to sing along with the latest hits from the new Xbox 360 title. It was very funny as people dressed up in various items to make them look like the ultimate rockstar. I personally didn’t dress up myself, but watched as people advanced onto the stage wearing funny wigs and screaming down the microphone.

Some were better than others at singing and I’m sure there were some pros up there who had sung before. Personally I never had tried ‘LIPS’ before, so I headed to the stage where I made a complete fool of myself. I figured that after people had a few drinks, they probably wouldn’t notice my terrible singing. We choose Nickleback – How you remind me. Seemed a good idea at the time, but apparently was one of the harder songs to sing.

“Lips: Number One Hits” features 40 of the biggest and best chart smashes spanning the last 20 years including hits from Coldplay, Rhianna, Culture Club, MC Hammer, Mariah Carey, Scissor Sisters, Lily Allen, Pet Shop Boys, plus many more. All songs come complete with the music videos too, to create an audio visual experience that can be enjoyed by everyone time and time again.

Lips, which was released last October, is the only music video game that comes with two wireless motion-sensitive microphones, allowing you the freedom to put your own spin on a song and not trip over any cumbersome wires as you dance around your living room. You can even get other people involved in your songs by having them playing percussion with your Xbox 360 controllers. Lips: Number One Hits uses the same mics meaning anyone with the original game and start the fun right away without any need to buy any additional kit.

I would definitely get the new Lips as I thought it was so much fun and unbelievably easy to pick up. I’ll just sing in my living room and hope the neighbours don’t hear me.
