First Video Gaming Rehab Clinic in the UK
On November - 4 - 2009
I guess it had to happen eventually. We may have rehab clinics for drug and alcohol abuse, but for the first time ever the UK has open a rehab clinic for video game addicts. The new unit also claims that between 5 and 10 percent of parents will know someone who is addicted to a video game.
The Broadway Lodge based in Weston-Super-ware usually takes in individuals for alcohol, drugs and gambling but has now introduced gaming addicts to the traditional Minnesota Method Twelve-Step programme, which slowly weans addicts off a particular vice, for gamers. atients undertake group therapy, tapes, videos, therapeutic tasks including vacuuming and washing up, and recreational activities.
