Japan always get the great stuff in gaming first, so I wasn’t surprised to hear of a partnership between Hudson and the vocal group GReeeeN for the Nintendo DS. This is the first time I’ve heard about this, so you may have to be a little patient with the facts.
The genre for Hudson x GReeeeN is “interactive live.” The newly opened official site promises a new type of musical product that’s different from CD and DVD. What I think they are going to be doing is incorporate a way for players to feel united with music from the use of the DS.
Users experience a live GReeeeN concert on the DS. The game replicates the experience of being at a live, where you clap your hands to the beat and move your body to the music and lights, by having you touch the screen and press buttons. Just how it does this isn’t clear at the moment.
The GReeeeN music collection has 30 songs for players to listen to complete with on screen lyrics, so it sounds like it’s going to be like Sing Star and other collections like this.
I’m really intrigued by this as it offers the Nintendo DS another outlet and use. I’ve no idea if this will be coming to the United Kingdom, but it’s definately interesting.
Hudson x GReeeeN Live!? DeeeeS!? hits on April 1. It will be offered solo at ¥5,229 and as part of a CD bundle costing ¥5,480. The content of the CD has yet to be announced.
