SEGA kindly sent me a this cute Ai Ai t-shirt upon hearing my intention to do a real-life monkey ball, minus the monkeys of course!
During the next month or so I will be zorbing. If you don’t know what zorbing is, it’s the recreation of rolling downhill in an orb, generally made of transparent plastic. Zorbing is usually performed on a gentle slope, but can also be done on a level surface, permitting more rider control. In the absence of hills some operators have constructed inflatable, wooden or metal ramps. There are two types of orbs, harnessed and non-harnessed. Non-harness orbs carry up to three riders, while the harness orbs are constructed for one to two riders. Double-harness spheres have different slope requirements, and must only be operated in specific locations.
So not only will I be rolling down a hill in one of these. Probably screaming or vomiting, one of the two or both.
“I’ll be sporting the famous Ai Ai T shirt from Super Monkey Ball. How cool is that tee?!!”
While wearing one of these Monkey masks
The things I do for the video game industry. It should be fun and hopefully we will be be able to zorb somewhere in London or further south. I can imagine the storylines now ‘Girl Gamers UK loses control in zorb ball’. The venue has not been sorted out as this moment as we are going through the finer details still. It should be fun. I must be completely mad. I’ve never experienced zorbing, so it’s hard to imagine my little body being thrown around in a human sized bubble while hurtling down a hill. I just hope they supply the bananas!!!
