Channel 4 launches flash game that re-creates events leading up to the Battle of Trafalgar.
Commissioned by Channel 4 Education and developed by Preloaded, the game is set against the backdrop of growing tension between the British, French and Spanish, and leads up to the famous battle between Nelson and Napoleon. Brian Lavery, Curator Emeritus at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, and renowned expert on the sailing navy has advised on every level to ensure historical accuracy.
Trafalgar origins can be played alone, or with friends, and utilises Channel 4 Education’s new Facebook Connect component, which allows players to pull their mates from their own Facebook page into their game. It also pushes the player’s achievements, scores and progress notifications back into their social network through a specially designed Facebook Application.
The game is part of the Bloody Foreigners season that will broadcast in June 2010. Play the game at www.trafalgarorigins.com
