This vehicular M.O.B.A. (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) from Punchers Impact will be hitting the PC via digital distribution later this year.
M.O.B.A. games are still a relatively new genre, despite the original DotA being around for years, and although there are a few available now, I cannot think of a single one that is based around vehicular combat. This fact alone is building my anticipation for Crasher, which is offering something other than a fantasy setting. Punchers Impact, who officially opened their doors only last year, is focusing on creating original downloadable games for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC platforms. They seem to be off to a good start.
“It is very important for us to be involved at the heart of our industry by offering gamers the games they expect,†explains Thierry Bensoussan, Managing Director of Punchers Impact. “By building a pool of creative talent within a single studio, we’re ensuring that Punchers Impact has solid financial foundations allowing it to focus on developing innovative projects. Mission accomplished: Punchers Impact already has around forty talented employees who have worked for the biggest French and English speaking studios from Free Radical to EA.â€
Both the game, Crasher, and the studio, Punchers Impact, are ones to watch.
