Can you spot your photo here?.
GGUK took the chance to capture as many cosplay and video game outfits as we could. We saw a massive selection of some rather interesting characters. Each time we saw a character we liked we grabbed them in and pulled them into the special MCV structure that was in the main area of the Expo. To say this structure was a little on the flimsy side was an understatement. It was so funny watching the room move as people brushed passed it. Unfortunately the structure couldn’t hold anymore pressure as while I was sitting inside, someone from the crowd literally fell through it and part of the structure came crashing down behind me, including one person from the public. They scrambled to their feet and luckily no one was hurt.
This is where everything happens though. It’s a place where it brings people together and you get the sense of community a great deal here. People don’t just dress up and go to the cosplay masquerade and go home. People make a whole day of it. It’s a place where anyone can be who they want to be without the fear of being ridiculed.
It doesn’t matter if your costume is falling apart or if you can’t make it through the swarms of people dressed up as a giant boat. It’s the sheer fact that people have so much fun being together and coming together as a community. That’s the fun factor about the London MCM expo, it’s about enjoying the whole experience.
Whether you’re here to see the guests of the latest TV show or try out the latest video game, the London MCM Expo has everything to cater for all your needs. It allows publishers to meet with gamers and comic fans to meet with artists.
Our favourites being the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland, Batman and the Joker, who let me tell you that the resemblance was uncanny, Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid ,Travis Touchdown from No More Heroes and Altair from Assassins Creed.
I understand how much time and dedication goes into making these costumes. I hope you enjoy the photographs. Our apologies if your photo didn’t get to the final ones. GGUK loved them all.
See you all in October
