Gaming seems to constantly transcend boundaries, allowing the gamer to perform in a band, be a DJ, a dancer, a singer or even, before long, a rapper. However, these types of “performance” games are soon to be joined by the chance for the player to act out their favorite movie scenes.
Have you ever sat watching a movie and thought “I could do that”? Well, before long you will be able to put your money where your mouth is and prove your acting skills. Yoostar 2 will use the magic of Kinect on the Xbox360 and Move on the PS3 to allow the player to act out their favorite scenes from movies and then be scored, allowing them to progress from struggling actor to superstar.
Think a scene could be better with a few changes? No worries, improvise to your hearts content. It’s your scene.
“Yoostar2 will bring the magic and fun of Hollywood into living rooms across America,†said Gregory Fischbach, President and CEO, Yoostar Entertainment Group. “The new console platforms have allowed us to make the experience totally immersive and incredibly easy.â€
Everyone can stand in front of the mirror and act out their favorite movie scenes. But sharing your talent with the world is something that Yoostar 2 adds to the mix. Record your favorite scene and then upload it to XBL, PSN, Yoostar.com or even FaceBook. The world is your stage!
“We have created something entirely new—a ‘Social Video Game’ that bridges the worlds of social games and video games,†said Fischbach. “The result is a game that’s incredibly fun to play with friends, lets you create and share your own video online, and provides a social game mechanic that motivates you to play and participate in the community. It’s like nothing the video game industry has seen before.â€
The game will ship with 60 scenes and players will be able to purchase further scenes from the Yoostar Library.
