Alan Wake Competition

Posted by GG Goblin On August - 6 - 2010

With the first DLC released only a couple of weeks ago, we figured now would be the perfect time to give away three Limited Collector’s Editions of Alan Wake for Xbox360. Are you ready for some psychological action-adventure?

Alan Wake launched this May amongst a flurry of media interest. The story follows author Alan Wake as he unravels the mystery surrounding the disappearance of his wife in the idyllic town of Bright Falls. Dealing with blackouts and characters from a book that he doesn’t remember writing, Alan uses his flashlight as his strongest weapon against the darkness and the “dark presence”.

We have three Alan Wake Limited Collector’s Editions to give away. These all come in a case that resembles a book, containing the game, The Alan Wake Files book, soundtrack CD, a code for the first DLC, avatar items and themes.

To be in with a chance of winning, simply leave a comment below telling us the following -

Alan Wake deals with, amongst other things, fear of the dark. What are you afraid of?

This competition is open to UK residents over the age of 15 years only. Entry will close at Midnight on Wednesday 11th August 2010. The winners will be chosen at random and notified by email, so please use a real email address.

Car crashes. The chance that the last thing I feel is a car’s chassis going through me, or that the last thing I see is a loved one on the passenger’s seat, screaming. Lousy things to take with you as your final moments.

  14. Susan Nisar Said,

I’m scared of cows…yes, cows…don’t laugh! I had a bad experience of walking through a field with my dog who ran off over a blind hill, a few minutes later my dog came running back towards me with about 30 stampeding ullocks chasing after her! I ran to the only tree in the paddock and of course my dog came and stood behind me! Soon I was surrounded by the young bullocks who kept moving closer and closer trying to sniff us with their horrible slimey muscus dripping snouts…I’d never been so scared in all my life! The paddock was enclosed by barb wire so the only option was to go to the gate which was about 500 yards away…we slowly shuffled across the field to safety. But since then I will not go in a field with cows!

    Horrible slimey Jellyfish!
You travel thousands of miles for white sands and clear blue seas & then can’t go in the water as you will get stung by one of these fiends & may die!

  132. Jennifer Green Said,

Great white sharks! I’ve tried to get over it by watching documentaries but they are just SO frightening I just can’t do it. They’re in my dreams at night, I hide at the bottom of the sea and watch them cruising the waters above me. There was a film on tv recently where a mutant HUGE shark leapt out of the sea and took out a jet – NOOOOO!!!! Nowhere is safe!

Being in the house alone at night. Far too many horror films as a teenager and an overactive imagination, I’ve even been known to work out different escape routes for me and the kids depending on what room the serial killer/vampire etc is in!

  141. Jay Said,

I am afraid of some mice, not all mice mind you, I find them to be alright. But in my old student house, I could hear them scratching away under my floorboards at night and sometimes during the day I would spot one, it would freeze then run STRAIGHT AT me, to get out of room, forcing me to jump and squeal like a little girl.

  143. The Great Vergo Said,

I am petrified of failure. Not just in a flouncy “won’t do anything difficult” way, but in a really terrible debilitating way, where I’m afraid to do something in case I fail, then I’m afraid of NOT doing something in case I fail, then my circuits fry and I end up getting super stressed. And this isn’t just big hard things – something as simple as tidying my room or writing an email gets the same mental treatment. I really just need to sort my life out and get on with things, but it’s not that easy.
