Japanese Itasha Cars are very Otaku

Posted by TurtleGirl On October - 8 - 2010

These Japanese Itasha cars are awesome. Itasha is a Japanese term for an otaku fad of individuals decorating the bodies of their cars with fictional characters of anime, manga, or video games. As you can see they like painting them vibrantly and slightly cheeky. Why is it that Japan do all the interesting paint jobs on their vehicles and we spray our cars weird colours with no variety or design.

Personally I think they’ve been decorated amazingly well. Particulary the Miku Hatsune one. I’m not sure if they are all painted on my hand or their decals. These photographs were taken by Photographer Tomoyuki Sakaguchi
