A line-up of three Xbox Live Arcade games for the holidays, and they are all a little bit special.
‘Tis the season to be jolly, and what better way to feel jolly than playing some damn good XBLA games? XBL have lined up three absolute peaches for the season, one each week starting on Dec 22nd. But these three games are not only linked by being available during the holiday season, there are cross-title features as well.
December 22nd – A World of Keflings – 800 MSPoints
Our first seasonal treat is the sequel to one of my favorite XBLA games, A Kingdom for Keflings from NinjaBee. In A World of Keflings, the little people are back and again need your help, either as a giant version of your own XBL Avatar or one of the included giants. This time around there are multiple Kingdoms that the Keflings need help with and, as with all three Holiday titles, split screen local multiplayer is included.
As the first of the “Games for the Holiday” titles, gamers buying A World of Keflings will also have early access to the other two games from within the game itself.
“The cross-title features are really cool,” said Steve Taylor, Keflings creator and President of NinjaBee. “If you buy Raskulls or ilomilo you can build homes for characters from those games in A World of Keflings. Then those characters live in your game world and you can kick them around with the rest of your Keflings. At the same time, if you own A World of Keflings you can choose to have a Kefling as your playable character in Raskulls or dress up ilo and milo in swanky Kefling costumes.”
December 29th – Raskulls – 800 MSPoints
Combining action-platforming and racing we have the second Holiday release, Raskulls from Halfbrick. Enjoy the adventures of the huge cast of mischievous characters in the single player Mega Quest, individual Grand Prix racing matches, and online around the world with Raskulls Multiplayer.
January 5th – ilomilo – 800MSPoints
The final game in the trio is the cute puzzle game, ilomilo from Southend Interactive, in which the player, or players, have to reunite the two friends across various cube filled levels. Work together to solve the puzzles and overcome the obstacles in either the single player or co-op mode and even unlock the mini-game “ilomilo shuffle” with its own leaderboard.
