Kinect Swimming
Swimming video games are few and far between, and mostly revolve around unsatisfying button-bashing. Michael Phelps – Push The Limit looks to remedy this thanks to Kinect.
Being developed by Blitz Games Studios and published by 505 Games, Michael Phelps – Push The Limit will see players trying to rise through the ranks in competitive swimming and eventually competing against Michael Phelps himself. Players will have to master different swimming strokes and techniques that will be captured by the Kinect unit and translated into the game. Sounds like hard work to me.
“Making Push the Limit has been an incredible experience for the team,†says Struan Robertson, Project Director on Michael Phelps – Push the Limit. “Both Blitz and 505 have spent a lot of time honing the game vision and design to produce an exhilarating experience that we’re all really proud of. From the first moment you enter the pool, you’re in Michael’s world and that’s a cool place to be.â€
Adds Ian Howe, President of 505 Games: “It is an honour for myself and everyone here at 505 to work with Michael Phelps, a truly transcendent athlete who has brought unprecedented glory to competitive swimming. His guidance and feedback have proven invaluable to the development process, and in-game he will mentor players in their journey from an unknown challenger to a powerful swimmer capable of beating the best in the world.â€
Coming later this year to Xbox One, PS4, PC and Switch.
