Do You Need A Lift? Competition

Posted by GG Goblin On March - 18 - 2011

Let’s face it, no-one really has a good word to say about public transport. But do you really think you could do better? Here is the chance to prove it as we have three copies of Cities in Motion from Paradox Interactive to give away.

Cities in Motion places the player in charge of the public transport system of four European cities between 1920 and 2020. The cities are recreated with amazing detail and players will find themselves having to plan bus routes, lay train and tram tracks, and even set helicopter landing pads. But being in charge also means making this into a profitable business, which will require keeping the little citizens happy. Make sure that they can get where they want to go, and don’t keep them waiting too long and maybe, just maybe, you won’t have them complaining about your service.

We have three copies of this PC game to give away. To be in with a chance of winning, simply leave a comment below with your answer to the following question:

What is your favorite mode of public transport, and why?

Entry will close at Midnight on Friday 25th March 2011. The winners will be chosen at random and notified by email, so please use a real email address and keep checking your spam folder.

actually one tries to avoid public transport, tis full of ruffians and people with colds and other nasty bugs, so one much prefers ones roller but if forced to chose a mode of transportation used by the general populace at large one would probably choose an elevator as it generally requires the least amount of time having to mingle with minions.

  36. Ashley Said,

My favourite mode of transport has got to be tram, i like the fact that alot of the time, they follow the road and you can just say “hahahaha, im going faster than you” but trams are reliable, cheap and easy, just to go to town or from town to town. This is why trams are my favourite mode of transport!

Posted on March 21st, 2011 at 4:27 pm

  37. Philip Said,

    A Taxi!

Posted on March 21st, 2011 at 4:27 pm

  38. taczbr Said,

    Cars.

Why? Because today’s cities have them extensively, and we now must think how to manage traffic and how to make people use/buy them more consciously. This game will help simulating that. ;)

Posted on March 21st, 2011 at 4:27 pm

  39. Qikdraw Said,

Busing has to be my favourite. Not just because my office of 800 people only has parking for 200, but because its always an interesting ride. So many interesting people come on and it makes for funny stories at work or home.

Posted on March 21st, 2011 at 4:29 pm

  40. Eirik Said,

Mine’s the tram. Even though the subway might be faster and less crowded, the tram’s got more charm, screeching through the city streets, and giving you a nice break where you can sit down, relax, and look out on the city life! They are also much more environmentally friendly than buses, and are a nice touch to the general impression of a city.

Posted on March 21st, 2011 at 4:35 pm

  41. Jan Said,

Tram, because its wonderful driving past the dazzling inner city life and watching the people going their ways and doing their things :)

  54. Austin Said,

I prefer subway. It never ceases to amaze me the engineering feats man can do. A train that travels under and above the ground is incredible. Take New York for example. They were able to lay all of the miles of subway track in New York while maneuvering around the hundreds of thousands of feet of pipes, cables, and wires under all of the building. Not to mention that the subway is extremely quick.

Metro it is! That’s where culture are well shown out. Try the tube and you’ll see old ones and really new ones. Go for New York, and meet some NY commuters. Hit Hong Kong and try out the clean but boring underground.

  64. Tycoon Lee Said,

Q: What is your favorite mode of PUBLIC TRANSPORT, and why?
A: Public Transport ? Surely is the buses because I used to ride buses to town with my mummy when I was small. We didn’t own a car. Buses is the cheapest and yet most convenient mode of transport. Thanks.
