Konami and Nintendo are teaming together and are working on a new system for New Love Plus on the Nintendo 3DS.
For those not familiar with the LovePlus games, it’s a dating sim developed and published by Konami which features characters Manaka, Rinko and Nene. The new game will support book mode, where you hold the 3DS with the two screens horizontally lined up. The game will also have a greater selection of attire for the girls to wear. Recent screenshots have seen a girl wearing a ring on her left finger.
The 3DS game will support wireless play and apparently, the girls will become friends with one another through this form of play. Konami will also be adding weather effects to the game and you’ll be able to change that as you play. For instance, when it rains, the girls will carry an umbrella to school. New Love Plus will let you import your data from the DS Love Plus game and you’ll gain bonuses for doing this. A few more details reveal the game will use face recognition to recognize your face. If someone else tries to play the game, your girlfriend will say things such as “And who might you be?” and refrain from acting in a girlfriend way to the impostor. The recognition is powerful enough to tell who are even if you take off your glasses or hat. The game will feature a ‘Girlfriend Introduction Mode’, and you’ll be able to introduce your girlfriend to real life acquaintances and family members. The mode also supports gyro controls allowing your friends to check out your girl from a selection of angles. No word as of yet if this will be a Japanese release only.
