Kataminey Damacraft

Posted by TurtleGirl On June - 29 - 2011

It seems that everything and anything can be created in Minecraft. Only just the other week, we saw ‘The Legend of Zelda‘ in true Minecraft form.

Minecraft modders have produced this stunning mod dubbed “Kataminey Damacraft”, which pays tribute to everyone’s favorite roll’em up Katamari Damacy. It’s been created by Bat Country Entertainment and allows you to push around the sphere that picks and collects everything up on it’s path. Take a hop, skip and jump to check out the trailer. It must have taken ages to create.

Who said science and math isn’t fun!!!!

Thank you sooooo much your kind words ^_^

Actually this was created as a fun side project last week by our lead engineer and myself to take a break from our main project. We originally made this video as a sneak peak to a proof of concept we were working on to show that you could in fact do “real” physics in minecraft using the JBullet API…. against what everyone else was saying to us.

Due to its popularity, we have not stopped working on this mod since last sunday when we completed the proof of concept. We love minecraft and katamari so much, we decided to implement all of the positive and constructive feedback the folks on youtube were posting up.

Our next version which we will be releasing later tonight, addresses all of the concerns and grips with this mod. As well as adding entity pick up and a new level system. We also threw in some psychedelic spice to make it more “trippy”. Did i mention we added levels and challenges.

if you would like to check out the mod, or get more up to date information, check out our website. http://www.batcountryentertainment.com/games and the minecraft forum post

also if you feel generous, please donate, this DRASTICALLY motivates us to work on way more free stuff.
