Nintendo Prepaid Card: Famicom Version

Posted by TurtleGirl On June - 2 - 2011

We’ve recently seen the Nintendo Pre-paid cards just the other day, but this Prepaid card is the Famicom version and is a collectible card that was released in Japan in late-May 2011 by Nintendo. It’s available at 7-11 convenience stores across Japan for either 1000 or 2000 yen. Two other collectible Nintendo prepaid cards were released at the same time as this one, which were Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda.
This Nintendo prepaid card will work with all Nintendo Wii, DSi, and 3DS consoles. People can purchase the card in stores and then use them to buy digital games and applications on the aforementioned consoles.

The Famicom version sports a number of classic 8-bit Nintendo sprites on a dark brick-red background. The Famicom’s logo is positioned between the two rows of sprites of popular characters from these games:

* Donkey Kong
* Excitebike
* Ice Climber
* Balloon Fight
* The Legend of Zelda
* Kid Icarus
* Metroid
* Punch-Out!!
* Super Mario Bros.

Once the money on the card is used up, the card can be kept as a collectible. GGUK are loving the retro design of this one.
