Pokémon Masters Will Catch ‘Em All in San Diego

Twenty-four competitors received invitations to compete in the 2011 Pokémon Video Game World Championships taking place on August 12-14 in San Diego, USA after they battled it out in some rather intense competition to find the country’s best Pokémon video game players.


Twenty-four players from three different age divisions were chosen for their remarkable skill, strategy and talent, making their way against hundreds of other competitors in the 2011 Pokémon Video Game National Championships held at the NEC in Birmingham last weekend. These players, featured in an exciting highlights video which you can see below.


A list of the top four winners in order of finish in each division includes:

These readers are featured in an exciting highlights video and will head to San Diego to battle against some of the best Pokémon video game players from across Europe and the United States.


These Pokémon Trainers will join other Pokémon video game players competing in National competitions in other countries throughout Europe. The list of countries hosting 2011 Pokémon National video game tournaments includes:

June 11, Rome, Italy—Fiera Roma, Hall 12, Ingresso Nord

June 18, Madrid, Spain—IFEMA, Hall 1, Feria de Madrid

June 25, Paris, France—Espace Grande Arche, Parvis de La Défense

July 2, Cologne, Germany—EXPO XXI Köln GmbH, Gladbacher Wall 5


The top eight Pokémon Trainers in each division at the National Championships earn invitations to the ultimate stage—the 2011 Pokémon Video Game World Championships in San Diego on August 12–14.  Players at the World Championships have a chance to win international travel packages, trophies, and special Pokémon prize packages.
