“These are the voyages of the Star Trek Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before“.
Sound familiar? A Star Trek theme park is set to go ahead in Jordan with an estimated $1.5 billion price tag to match, which will be secured for tourism and major development. The construction of the 74-hectare Red Sea Astrarium project in Aqaba will be home to four hotels and 17 entertainment developments and is expected to start next year.
The resort will include hotels, theatres, dinning and shopping. The Star Trek-themed “space-flight adventure” will be created under licence from CBS Consumer Products, which manages the licensing of television shows including the CSI series.
The main Jordanian investor is the King Abdullah Fund and the development of the resort would generate employment for more than 500 skilled workers…..Make it so!
