But mischievous hackers may have made off with credit cards details.
Last Sunday the Steam forums were hacked. However, as Gabe Newell explained in an email to Steam members last night, it would appear that the intrusion went beyond just the forums.
Apparently access was also gained to a Steam database containing user names, hashed and salted passwords, game puchases, email addresses, billing addresses and encrypted credit card information. So far there is no evidence to suggest that the credit card information was taken.
Gabe recommends changing Steam account passwords, passwords and Steam forum passwords and watching credit card statements carefully.
