Video games aren’t the only way you can lose a game. Meet 26-year-old Behar Merlaku, just an ordinary person wandering into a local casino in Bregenz, Austria.
Who decided he would try he’s luck on the slot machines inside. To his surprise he struck gold, as the machine started making loud noises and flashing it’s lights. This man had just won £36 million pounds and was shocked and in complete disbelief. However, when he tried to claim his prize from the casino owners, they said it was mistake, aka ‘software glitch‘. They argued that the jackpot went off erroneously and that Merlaku’s game didn’t hit the required five matches. He only got four, they said. So instead of £37 million, he got a hundred dollars and a free meal. He wanted to claim his £36 million and he got a free meal. Say that back to yourself and you’ll see how ridiculous that sounds. I know I probably would have gone berserk at this point. The casino owners say it’s a software glitch, but wouldn’t it be possible the mistake was on the actual display instead of the result? He has now sued the company that own the casino.
