Sony Computer Entertainment will be giving the ‘Torne‘ PlayStation 3 DVR kit a firmware update to coincide with the release of the PlayStation Vita in Japan
This firmware update to version 3.6 will be released on the 15th. The major features for the update are to support the PlayStation Vita and in addition, Remote Play, where you’ll be able to write to your Vita in a much higher resolution than the current PSP writing options. To use the feature, you will need to download the ‘Uke-Torne’ app from the PlayStation store to your Vita. This free app will be available on the 17th. The update will improve writing speed, through a quick write option. For instance, a thirty minute video, the PS3 can normally write to PSP in ten minutes and Vita in forty minutes. Using the quick write option, will cut these time down vastly by 3 to 5 minutes. Other additions including in the update is a paid wood frame theme and sound effects.
