Xbox360 Entertainment Revolution Starting Tomorrow

Posted by GG Goblin On December - 5 - 2011

Microsoft have announced that a new dashboard update for Xbox360 will be rolling out tomorrow, bringing with it all manner of goodies including voice controlled entertainment apps.

The update will include voice search using Kinect and Bing allowing people to use their voice as the remote control to enjoy games, music, movies and TV shows. But perhaps the most interesting addition in this update, and in the near future, are the various partners that will be offering their services over Xbox Live. The full listing and schedule for these services is as follows:

– Telenovelas/Sports (Televisa). Brazil, Chile, Colombia, France, Italy, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom

– Xfinity On Demand (Comcast). United States

Whilst the offering for here in the UK is somewhat sparse from the initial update, with only LOVEFiLM being offered as something new, there are a fair few other services coming later in December and early 2012. The ability to have all of this content in one place, and control it with only your voice, will help Xbox360 become the “one-stop entertainment shop” in living rooms around the world.
