Nintendo have officially announced the Nintendo Network, which is Nintendo’s new network platform. It will be used in conjunction with the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.
Nintendo Network will be an exclusive network platform that will offer such things as communication amongst users and digital content. Square Enix’s Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, is due for the 16th February and is expected to be the very first game to offer download content. Players will also be able to purchase music tracks. The Wii U will have a personal account system that will be compatible with the Nintendo Network. Iwata also announced. With this, Nintendo believes it will improve the ease with which multiple family members can use the system. Iwata stopped just short of confirming that the Nintendo Network will end the company’s policy of tying downloaded titles to Nintendo hardware, rather than individual users, but mentioned that it packed an infrastructure that supports not only add-on content, but fully downloadable retail games as well.
