EA have confirmed that a sequel to their Medal of Honor series is currently in development, titled ‘Medal of Honor: Warfighter’. Warfighter will centre on the story of Tier 1 Operators and will be developed with the Frostbite 2.0 engine, which also happens to power Battlefield 3.
Frostbite 2.0 currently powers the massive multiplayer FPS title Battlefield 3, as well as titles such as Need for Speed: The Run and the upcoming Command & Conquer: Generals 2. The game is aiming for an October release. EA studio Danger Close will be handling all development duties this time around, including the multiplayer previously outsourced to DICE.
EA will be revealing more details on Medal of Honor: Warfighter next month at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. No more information has been revealed about the new title.
