March is the month for the Virtual Console and Nintendo will be offering a bumper collection of classic games set to launch via the Nintendo eShop and Wii Shop Channel. Nintendo 3DS owners can look forward to replaying classic NES, Game Boy and for the first time ever SEGA Game Gear titles from some of the platform’s most famous franchises.
So what’s new on the Nintendo eShop this week? Dr. Mario and Game Boy title Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters are will be coming to the 3DS and the new 3DS game Kid Icarus: Uprising will arrive on the 23rd March.
SEGA Game Gear titles will begin to eventually arrive, which will be a first for Nintendo on the 3DS Virtual Console. Dragon Crystal, Shinobi and Sonic the Hedgehog: Triple Trouble will also be appearing in the new selection of games on offer from Nintendo.
Nintendo will launch a number of Virtual Console releases for Nintendo Wii owners, too. Downloadable versions of Mega Man X, Mega Man 5, Strider and Samurai Shodown IV: Amakusa’s Revenge will be appearing too in the near future.
Super Street Fighter 2 is also planned and will be the first Virtual Console title to feature online play.

Box your way through a range of colourful characters such as the fragile-jawed Frenchman Glass Joe, sucker-punching Russian Soda Popinski and the Hollywood heavyweight Super Macho Man on route to becoming the champ. Make sure you look out for a cameo from Mario as the referee. Available for 3DS for €5/£4.50 (UK Only)
