GAME Store Warns Aggressive Customers

Posted by GG Goblin On March - 28 - 2012

It would seem, from this notice inside my local GAME store, that some customers are not all together happy with the whole GAME situation…

The notice, placed just inside the door, warns against aggressive, threatening, abusive or violent behaviour against the staff, which would suggest that there have been some unhappy customers. The notice then goes on to explain that, due to the store entering administration, they are not able to offer refunds, returns, exchanges, or gift/reward card redemptions.

What struck me as most interesting was at the very bottom of the notice where it was explained that this is just a temporary situation. Does the store know something we don’t? Is it just wishful thinking? Or are they just trying to fob off the already unhappy customers?

I was going to ask the staff for comment, but after spending a matter of only a couple of minutes in the store, I just had to leave. The shelves were half empty and it really was a depressing sight. People may complain about GAME’s various practices, but I will most definitely miss there presence on our High Streets if/when they go.

  1. Avalon Said,

I can understand being angry at the decision, specially for gift cards and the such, as those have basically cost the consumer money, and are not a reward for buying in the stores as the points are.

What I can’t understand is that people don’t realise that customer services have nothing to do with this decision. They are facing redundancy, which puts them in even a worse position than the person who has lost some money or points on their cards.

If people want to be angry, violent or aggressive, they should direct it to the person responsible.

My thoughts go out to all those at GAME. My offer for donuts still stands ;)

  2. Dave Said,

It should also say “we will probably be out of a job soon and won’t think twice to smashing your face in”
