PixyKids has managed to raise a staggering $3 million for the development of a social platform aimed for children aged six to twelve years.
This is built on the concept of building and establishing a social platform for those children too young in age to allow onto social networking websites like Facebook. Under parent supervision, children can now share the experience and their own pictures, on the new social media platform. Children are able to produce their very own 3D avatars and engage in interactive tools and apps. Children can upload photos, videos, artwork, and projects. They will be able to have their own space on the site, resembling a control panel from which they can access a community wall, text and video chat, email, and a personal URL.
“It’s a cross between Facebook and Disney,” Kadakia said. “We take what Facebook stands for, such as user-generated content, the platform, the social networking, and engaging apps. And we combine that with Disney-like engaging experiences and family friendly content.”chief executive Rajul Kadakia told VentureBeat.
