Yummi Apps has decided to move the waters of mobile game publishing by inviting masses to help publish their recently developed game “Jelly Love” for Facebook, iOS, Android and Windows mobile platforms. To prove that it could be possible, they have decided to ask community at kickstarter.com to fund their first marketing campaign.
“We have been talking with the biggest game publishers around the world – “Zynga”, “Rovio”, “Chillingo” and others, they have provided us with positive and professional feedback, though the details of the contracts were very unfavorable, the conditions that we were offered would really have restricted our independence, and that’s why we decided to take a risk and release the game ourselves with a support of kickstarter.com community” – says Tomas Kacevicius, a co-founder of “Yummi Apps”.
The game has just been released as a beta on Facebook.com (try it now onwww.jellylove.us), so kickstarter will not only help Yummi Apps raise the money to further develop it on other platforms, but will also improve based on a valuable feedback from all kickstarter mobile game fans. If this model will prove to work, “Yummi Apps” might also publish their major location-based strategy game “Wizardia” with a help of a crowd.
