If you’ve been experiencing problems with Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition just lately, it could be for one simple reason. Minecraft offers a new feature, enabling a new mechanic within the game, which is split-screen multiplayer.
Unfortunately you can’t seem to use this new feature unless you own a high definition television, according to developer 4J Studios. Many Minecraft fans have expressed their outrage on various forums, saying that they had no idea you needed an HDTV to experience the new split-screen feature. The Xbox Live Marketplace makes no mention that a HDTV is required to play the game with the new feature.
Microsoft updated Kotaku with the latest revelation about the game feature
“In order to deliver the best consumer experience, and to support the text needs of the inventory and crafting system, split-screen multiplayer in Minecraft does require an HD screen. Currently, in game prompts alert players of the HD requirements for split-screen multiplayer.”
