Microsoft announced a selection of updates to the Windows Azure Cloud computing platform last week and in Norway they decided to celebrate.
A techno dance routine that preceded Microsoft’s Windows Azure presentation at the Norwegian Developers Conference featured some women jumping around on the stage and singing to a set of lyrics that appeared on a monitor in front of them with a variety of drug references including this line “The words MICRO and SOFT don’t apply to my penis.” The ‘dancing azure girl’ routine is already drawing wide spread criticism and probably a complete Microsoft PR nightmare. Since the event, the official Windows Azure Channel posted this statement from Microsoft.
“This week’s Norwegian Developer’s Conference included a skit that involved inappropriate and offensive elements and vulgar language. We apologize to our customers and our partners and are actively looking into the matter.”
