Even The Settlers Online are joining the Euro 2012 football frenzy, with an event that will run until July 5th and have players collecting footballs to exchange for all manner of goodies.
Ubisoft’s free to play browser game, The Settlers Online, isn’t shy about throwing an event. Christmas had players collecting presents, the Easter event (which actually ran a little late) had us all playing “spot the egg”, and now, to coincide with the Euro 2012 football tournament, players are being given adventures that take place on football pitches (along with multiple “streaking” animals) with footballs as the prize. There are six matches in total to play through, which will take a fair amount of time, and then there are daily quests which provide another way to build up your football collection.
“But why do you need so many footballs?”, I hear you ask. Well, footballs can be exchanged for some highly desirable items, such as flower beds resembling flags, buffs, an impressive looking trophy to display in your town (maybe next to your Raving Rabbid statue if you participated in the Easter event) and, at a massive cost of 840 footballs, a Friary. Not only a cool looking building to have in your town, the Friary can generate as much Brew as four Breweries of the same level, and doesn’t require a building licence.
The event is running until July 5th, so don’t waste any more time, get over to thesettlersonline.com and join the fun.
