Nintendo today reported reduced losses for its first financial quarter, ended 30th June, 2012. No revisions were made to the previously announced annual financial or unit sales forecasts. Compared to the quarter a year earlier, global sales of Nintendo 3DS handheld game hardware increased 162%, while Nintendo 3DS software rose 63%.
 

In addition, the company announced that as of the 25th July,  2012, it was no longer selling Nintendo 3DS hardware below. Global unit sales, including lifetime totals, were as follows (millions of units):
