I don’t want to go on about the Pandas in World of Warcraft’s latest expansion, Mists of Pandaria, but as I sit here trying to recover from last night’s launch, giant Pandas are dancing around in my head.
But what a launch it was. Giant fighting Pandas were not the only highlight. The London launch took place at the Cafe de Paris and was streamed across the Internet in collaboration with other cities around the world, in a “Eurovision” style. There was dancing, a street procession and prizes given away (Kudos to Fred who queued for over a week), all leading up to the game going on sale.
So, the Mists of Pandaria expansion is now on sale and includes a whole new continent, an increase to the level cap, the Monk class, and Pandas. During the evening, guests were invited to have their faces painted like pandas and even have their own origami panda made for them by the delightful girls dressed up around the main stage area. Lots of prizes and goodies were given out for those who waited in line first to someone who waited for a week. The main stage area had wall to wall televisions amounted up on the walls, so the guests could see the countdown going live, while they they stood with giant World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria hats on their heads. All in all, a very good evening by blizzard, it was super pandastic! We’ll see you in Pandaria. Enjoy the photos!
