Corpse Party: Book of Shadows has officially been confirmed for digital release for the PSP in North America this coming winter, with the European release following shorty behind. No official release dates have been confirmed, but I’m sure we’ll hear more details from XSEED games before long.
It’s the latest sequel, which has been divided into eight chapters, each of which tells its own self-contained storylines. The whole game is presented in a first-person point-and-click adventure game style, and is much heavier on dialogue-driven cutscenes than its predecessor . The spooky atmosphere is as thick as ever, though, and the gameplay is aided by fast-forward and message log features, as well as the ability to open the menu and save at absolutely any time, even during cutscenes. Fingers crossed that Corpse Party: Book of Shadows is PlayStation Vita compatible.
To celebrate, XSEED Games is offering a limited time 50% discount on the original Corpse Party, which will be available on the PlayStation Store at the reduced price of $9.99 for two weeks beginning today.
