Sony Treats players to Halloween fright night in-game festivities

Posted by TurtleGirl On October - 4 - 2012

Halloween is literally right around the corner and Sony have decided it would be a good idea for people to participate in some special fright night festivities with some online gaming titles to celebrate this spooky month.

These will include; Bullet Run, DC Universe Online, EverQuest, EverQuest 2, Free Realms, Legends of Norrath, PoxNora, Star Wars: Cone Wars Adventures and Vanguard Saga of Heroes. From now through to the 15th November, players will be tricked or treated to in-game Halloween events, activities and promotional items within each game. Take a hop, skip and jump to the line-up of events Sony have in store for Halloween players. Happy trick or treat.

Bullet Run: October 5th – November 5th
This month, scare in style to add to your in-game HEAT. All-new Halloween wearables are available for purchase in the in-game Marketplace; trick or treat players while earning HEAT and bonuses with new gear including Domination clothing pieces, a scary Witches Hat and more!

DC Universe Online: October 16th – November 6th
This October, DCUO celebrates Halloween with its new in-game event, “The Witching Hour.” Thanks to the mischievous Klarion the Witch Boy, all hell has broken loose across Gotham City as masked ghouls cause chaos in the streets and torment trick-or-treaters. Heroes will be tasked with stopping the dangerous apparitions, while Villains will work to cause even more trouble. Ultimately, players will be challenged to enter the Goth club, “The Midnight Masquerade” and take down Klarion, who has managed to increase his power by stealing the abilities of magic Heroes and Villains such as Zatanna, Black Adam and Tala. Players will be rewarded with a bagful of seasonal goodies for their efforts, including new trinkets, a powerful new pet, and spooky appearance items such as the Bone Daddy Mask and the Ghastly Ghoul Mask.

EverQuest: October 19th – November 7th
Norrath is creepier and crawlier than usual with the seasonal tricks and treats that Halloween has brought. Players are dared to log in and join in the festivities, including helping the Gravedigger in the Plane of Knowledge dig graves, or aiding the Hungry Halfling as he searches for pumpkin-flavored food and drinks. Additionally, players will be treated to Halloween-themed armor drops from Hero’s Forge and special items in the marketplace. This Halloween, EverQuest is truly taking Fright Night to frightfully fun levels!

EverQuest II: October 11th – November 5th
Norrathians can celebrate Halloween with EverQuest II’s “Nights of the Dead” event. Players will be treated to haunted houses in Qeynos and Freeport, as well as frightfully fun Halloween-themed decorations. New this year are Ghost Hunter competitions in Commonlands and Antonica, and a “Nights of the Dead Devotee” quest. Players will also be rewarded with “Nights of the Dead” treats that will drop as loot across Norrath including, Skyshrine, Withered Lands, Qeynos and more!

Free Realms: October 11th – November 15th
Halloween has arrived in Free Realms and players are invited to experience in-game Halloween fun and adventure! Frightfully fun quests, a Vampire vs. Werewolf Dance-Off in Bone Bog Cemetery, in-game Halloween items available for purchase in the Marketplace to haunt in style and costumes, including a Skeleton, Witch, Candy Corn and more are available for players. Additionally, the Chiller Boombox and Pumpkin Costume trading card game quests return and they’re joined by the all new Pumpkin Prince Bundle Pack! Scare your friends with a special pack on sale now. The deal is so spooktacular, players won’t want to miss out!

Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures: October 12th – November 9th
Join the most ghoulish event in the Galaxy as Clone Wars Adventures celebrates Halloween. Now through Nov. 9, 2012, there are spooky costumes, devilish Droids and deadly decorations available for players to alter their characters’ appearance and the appearance of their homes. As a special treat, a Creepy Crate will grant a mask each day to anyone brave enough to approach it in the Lounge of the Jedi Temple from October 24 to October 31! Jedi  Members can also collect a second set of masks! For those who want more frightful fun, a special Halloween-themed Dark Side Duel stage where players fight a Halloween Count Dooku and a special Fright Flight Halloween-themed stage of the Rocket Rescue mini-game will also be available!
