Nintendo fans are in for a DOUBLE treat as Charles Martinet, the voice of Mario and Luigi, visits GAME at the Bullring Birmingham on Friday 6th September and at the John Lewis Store on the 7th September.
As 2013 marks the 30th anniversary of Luigi’s debut video game appearance in Mario Bros, for one day only, fans will have a once in a lifetime chance to get an autograph and photograph with the gaming celebrity at a special Mario event, taking place in-store at GAME. Exclusive posters and game sleeves will be handed out to fans in line to meet Charles, and Mario and Luigi costume characters will be available for photographs.
Charles Martinet is an American voice actor who has voiced Mario since 1995. He also provides the voice for Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, Toadsworth, Baby Mario and Baby Luigi among other Nintendo characters.
As well as meeting Charles Martinet, visitors will have the chance to play a number of games including Mario Kart 7 and New Super Mario Bros. 2 on Nintendo 3DS, both featuring the voice work of Charles, and available to play throughout the day.
Lee Hunt, Local Marketing Manager for GAME Retail Ltd says, “We cannot wait to welcome Charles Martinet, one of the ultimate gaming celebrities into the store. Charles is such a popular figure in the gaming world and we’re really excited to be able to offer the UK gaming community the chance to meet the man behind so many iconic characters. 2013 is already a huge year for Nintendo fans, with Luigi’s 30th anniversary and some amazing games on the horizon, it’s great to offer the community another reason to celebrate”.
