Activision today released Angry Birds Star Wars, based on the bestselling mobile game from Rovio Entertainment Ltd. and Lucasfilm Ltd., onto Sony’s PlayStation 4. The title, combining the award-winning, action-strategy gameplay and design of Angry Birds with the iconic characters, themes and aesthetic of Star Wars, marks the franchise’s debut on next-generation gaming consoles. It includes over 200 levels from the original mobile version, twenty console-only bonus stages, and brand new competitive and cooperative multiplayer modes.
The PlayStation 4 edition of Angry Birds Star Wars utilises the exclusive capabilities of this next-generation system to great effect. The game supports a wide variety of interface preferences; players can choose to use a traditional controller, as well as the precision touchpad of the DualShock 4 controller and the motion controls of PlayStation Move. The PlayStation 4 also makes recording and sharing that perfect shot online simple and easy with automatic screenshot and video capture functionality.
Angry Birds Star Wars is out now for PlayStation 4 and is rated PEGI 7. It is also available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo’s Wii, Wii U systems and the Nintendo 3DS. The game will be available for the Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, later this month.
