Codemasters’ tabletop racing game, which can be seen as the spiritual successor to the Micro Machines games, will be arriving on the Xbox Games Store today for Xbox360, after launching earlier this week on Steam and PSN. There will also be an update coming next month providing Oculus Rift support.

The free Oculus Rift update will be available in December for the PC version of the game. Playing with the Oculus Rift, which is a virtual reality platform, will fully immerse players in Toybox Turbos’ energetic gameplay and charming environments, giving gamers a choice of two different perspectives. The first is a chase camera that puts you right in the heart of the action. The second is a third-person view of the world from above that offers the player a unique perspective looking down on the table tops and recreating a believable feeling of playing with toy cars.
With gameplay reflecting Codemasters’ fondly remembered miniature racing titles of the ‘90s, Toybox Turbos features a series of cups to win in the game’s single-player mode, plus both online racing and single-screen local multiplayer gaming for up to four-players. The game’s quick-fire rounds, accessible gameplay and circuits flooded with power-ups, short-cuts and obstacles are perfect for turning friends into foes in hyper-competitive gaming sessions that race into the night, whether gathered around a single screen, playing online or with a mix.
